The Global Fund’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is expanding its advisory services with the recruitment of an Advisory Manager, Stefania Casero.

Stefania (pictured below) joins the Global Fund after ten years at McKinsey & Company, where she mostly advised multilateral organizations, foundations and public-private partnerships on strategic, programmatic and organizational issues, with a focus on the Global Public Health sector.

“Advisory work has proven an ideal way for the OIG to support the organizational mission,” says Head of Audit and Advisory Daniel Petrescu. “Whereas audits and investigations focus on protecting and safeguarding the Global Fund, our advisories identify opportunities to boost organizational impact and efficiency.”

“Having a dedicated advisory team under Stefania’s leadership will allow us to significantly scale up our advisory output.”

Recent OIG advisories have covered a wide range of mission-critical activities, such as Grant implementation in West and Central Africa,  Human Rights-related barriers to accessing services and Evolving the Technical Review Panel Model. During advisory work, the OIG analyzes a situation, process or area, generating insights and recommendations to Global Fund management by leveraging OIG’s deep knowledge of internal processes and the wider operating landscape.
